Now that you have begun the process…what next? If you followed our steps in the previous episode, then you will begin receiving information about your auto transport via email and/or phone depending on the options you chose. You may even feel a little overwhelmed by the responses. In this episode, we are going to help you make sense of all the auto transport information coming in and provide you with one of the most valuable pieces of information!
The first volley of email will usually be an introductory email. This is to let you know who they are, that they received your quote request and will be contacting you shortly with your quote or a request for more information. Here is my first piece of advice…Check your spam/junk folder for any email that is incorrectly moved their by your email provider. You should add each auto transport company to your contact list when you receive your first email from them. This will keep their email out of your spam/junk folder going forward. If you took my advice in the previous episode and created an email address specifically for you auto transport contacts, then you should have no problem reading & responding to these in short order. If you chose to use your regular email, then these are mixed in with all your other email and will be more difficult to get to. You will be well served to create an email folder just for auto transport in this case and keep moving the emails there. This will make it much easier going forward as you move through the process.
Here is my second piece of advice…You will get out of it what you put into it! Meaning if you ignore these attempts to contact you, or you take more than 12 hours to respond; the auto transport company will assume that your transport is not that important to you and it will become less important to them. Check your email / voicemail frequently and then respond to an requests for more information.
If you learn nothing else from this series…then learn this! You should not give any auto shipper money or access to your money until at least the auto carrier has picked up your vehicle! There is no reason for a deposit since the auto shippers have not spent any money on your auto transport yet. Reputable auto transport companies know they don’t have to lock you in to using their services to get your business.
